In April 2008, Shawntia M. Wright was searching for a card for her cousin who is now incarcerated. While browsing through the variety of cards, she noticed that there was not a specific category that related to those that are in prison. At that moment, she was inspired to create products with inmates in mind. During her research of inmates and the prison systems, Shawntia’s heart grew full of compassion for the prisoners more than ever before. She discovered that prisoners not only want to receive communication from the outside world, but they need to receive it. It helps them make it through the tough situations they are faced with while behind bars and reduces the chances of them returning once released.

In August 2008, Shawntia began working diligently on creating Cell-Mail Greetings. However, she did not accomplish this task alone. She has an excellent team that shares the same passion for this subject and because of that, they put their all into making CMG the best communication system around!
