Should Juveniles Be Sentenced to Life?

Okay….This may be a little controversial, but here it goes.
Should children under the age of 18 be sentenced to life in prison with no chance of release?
Some say if they did the crime that’s deserving of this punishment, then they should do the time.
Others say that children shouldn’t be given such a lengthy sentence because they are still immature and could grow to learn from the childish mistake they made to be incarcerated in the first place.
What do you think?

In my town a 12 year old just shot and killed an innocent women. Turns out this young man was doing a gang initiation. I think 12 years old is just too young to understand the ramifications of murder but it is an age where video games and television has devalued life and shows that taking another life is not so unusual. The problem is that it is the adults who work at the companies that put out this madness and then expect another adult to manage it…
